Location

The tiny state of Lagos is the smallest in the Federation, with an area of just over 3,500 sq. km. Nearly a quarter of this area is made up of numerous lagoons and creeks. It is located in the southwestern region of the Federation, having common boundaries with Ogun State to the north and the east, and the Republic of Benin on the west. The southern portion extends for nearly 200 km along the shores of the Atlantic Ocean.
